St. Stephen?s High School (5-7), while already out of a playoff spot, upset St. Jude Catholic School, 60-58.
SJCS center Mark Ong missed a pair of free throws with 1.1 seconds left, rendering the result of Judenites? replay game against CKSC of no consequence.
Kent Lao had 18 points and 20 rebounds for SSHS to win the Freego Player of the Game award.
Teammate Emarson Que added 14 points and had three treys to win the Burlington 3-point Shootout award.
Jason Ligad topscored for SJCS with 13 points.
With St. Stephen?s HS? victory, the order for a replay between Chiang Kai Shek College and St. Jude Catholic School has been withdrawn since its result would no longer affect the standings.
Earlier on the day, Tiong Lian Commissioner Ato Badolato upheld St. Jude CS?s protest of its 61-60 loss to CKSC last January 28 and ordered a replay.
SJCS (5-5) still has to meet Uno HS in its final elims game but is already assured of the No. 4 playoff spot and will meet unbeaten Xavier School (11-0) in the semifinal playoffs.
