Notes: Xavier School?s 32-game winning streak over four seasons (since Game Three of the 2008 Finals) is over. Xavier School got off to a quick start, taking a 23-11 lead following a 7-0 run (four by Kyles Lao). Hope Christian regained the upperhand (since a 3-2 lead on a Joshua Go three) at 32-31 midway through the second quarter on a Janrey Garrido three. Kyles Lao deadlocked the score for the first time at 38-38 and took a 42-40 halftime lead. There were three ties (43-all, 45-all, 47-all) early in the third quarter but the Golden Stallions were up by five points twice, 58-53 and 61-56, with 40 seconds left in the period as Donal Ong picked up his fourth and fifth three-pointers in a shootout with Garrido. Xavier grabbed its final lead, 63-61, on a Abram Vera Cruz basket, before Garrido connected on a trey, 64-63, at 9:10 mark in the fourth quarter as Hope Christian went ahead for good. At one stretch, King Benemerito scored eight straight points as Hope?s lead ballooned to 74-65. An 8-0 run by Xavier School, capped by a jeron Teng basket, equalized the count for the last time, 78-all, time down to 3:15. Jessiery Pedrosa was unsuccessful on a three-point play but Errol Villar followed up Pedrosa's free-throw miss to give Hope Christian an 82-78 advantage. With 1:17 left, Teng sank a pair of free throws as Xavier School sliced its deficit to four points, 86-82. Hope Christian knocked in the game's final seven points, including an uncontested Joshua Go layup just before the buzzer sounded even as both teams were no longer playing defense at the time and already calling it a night.
