I cannot think of a more auspicious time to be a basketball fan
and lover of the game. Looking back just a couple years ago basketball
seemed to have been declared dead in our country with the FIBA suspension.
This came on the heels of the expulsion by the Philippine Olympic
Committee of the old Basketball Association of the Philippines.

When I was invited to become a regular columnist for this publication
I had to think long and hard before I finally decided to accede.
It was the longest 30 seconds of my life. While talking about the
game of basketball has always been something that has come easy
to me, I am not a writer by profession. Being in the company of
such outstanding writers as Joe and Henry makes me a little nervous.
