Over the weekend Season 71 of the Universities Athletics Association of the Philippines opened with the usual cornucopia of speeches, tributes, music, special effects, bright lights and famous faces. Under the tutelage of Coach Ato Badolato, the Red Cubs have long dominated the high school division of all leagues, even at the national level. The mere mention of the Red Cubs would strike fear to any opponent, relegating other teams to fight for second place in any tourney they enter in.
